A single-walled underground brine system will drastically reduce salt costs as well as reduce liability from injury due to loading salt into a brine tank or salt tank storage system. These systems work and integrate directly with your industrial water softener system or processing plant. Pair an underground bulk brine maker with our water softener salt recycling system and decrease brine to the drain by up to 75%! (Also see our double-walled bulk brine storage tank systems that have the same salt-saving potential and the extra safety of a second wall.)
Our focus, as an engineering company as opposed to a salt company, is on designing the best underground briner and salt tank storage systems to integrate with your process or industrial water softener in your new or existing facility. If an underground bulk salt system isn’t feasible, an above-ground bulk brine systems and salt tanks might be the right solution for you. Bulk underground brine maker and storage systems are perfect for any facility with high salt consumption or management who does not want to put their team at risk for injury from salt storage loading. For extra environmental protection, consider a double-walled underground bulk brine maker.
Single Walled Underground Bulk Brine and Salt Tank Storage Systems are ideal for:
- Hospitals
- Refinery
- Beverage Processing
- Pharmaceutical
- Health Care Facilities
- Universities
- Correctional Facilities
- Hotels
- Apartment Buildings
- Manufacturing
- Food Processing
- Municipal
Why Underground Bulk Salt and Briner Storage Systems?
Many customers choose an underground brine system because they do not have the space to install an above ground brine system or they do not like the aesthetics of the above ground bulk briner system.
Cut Water and Salt Costs while Reducing Environmental Footprint with our underground briner and Salt Storage Tanks
Buying and storing salt in bulk will reduce labor and salt costs dramatically. With minimal design changes to a new or retrofitted industrial softener system, up to 40% of salt costs can be saved while reducing water consumption. This is not only good for your bottom line, but it’s the right thing to do for the environment.
Automatic Brine Tank Liquid Level Controls
Our Single Walled Underground Briner and Salt Tank Systems include automatic brine level controls, with emergency bypass, so there is never a worry about adding water to the underground bulk salt system.
Efficient Pure Brine Collection
All tanks have large distribution systems that collect brine evenly across the entire tank using slotted heavy-duty PVC piping system. Particles, salt crystals and other insoluble material are filtered from the saturated brine. Quartz rock covers the distribution system to ensure only brine enters the distribution system leaving the sediment and salt crystals behind if grade salt or granulated salt is used
The tanks can also be fitted with a submersible brine pump in lieu of the brine distributor if external bine pumps are not available or desirable.
Down Flow Brine Making
High quality brine saturation is insured by consistent, down flow brining. As fresh water rises, the higher density saltwater sinks. Dirt and sludge from the salt is captured at the bottom of the tank and needs to be removed periodically.
Briner Integration, Engineering and Innovation
As stated above, we are an engineering company, not a salt company. Our focus is on implementing systems that seamlessly integrate into your industrial water softener system(s) or processes. Our goal is to reduce your brine, salt and water costs while simultaneously reducing your carbon footprint. We can also integrate with your existing softener or process for an alarm to notify you if you softener or process has a potential failure so you can focus on your core business and not worry if your brine or salt storage system is working correctly.

Durability
Our tough fiberglass reinforced plastic shells are constructed to maximize the life of the system.
Uniform Distribution
In many underground briners, inlet water is not distributed evenly. Results are often the formation of salt pillars in the tank. These can break and damage the system. We eliminate this with a header the length of the tank.
Dust Free Fast Salt Loading
Salt is loaded pneumatically and has an air vent and bag collection system that produces minimum dust emissions. The connection is 4” 304 stainless steel pipe, which is fitted with an aluminum camlock coupling and cap that adapts to a P/D salt truck hose connection. Further salt dust suppression can be added by injecting water during salt unloading, resulting in further minimization of dust emission.
Easy Clean Out
All Underground Bulk Brine Systems are fitted with a top-mounted, man way. This port is used for periodic sludge clean-outs. Every three years is standard but this depends on salt type and quantity of salt used.
